Vision and Phased Roadmap

Canonical Question: What is the practical, phased path for turning the Term Decomposition Protocol and Calibration Records into a living, usable catalog and, eventually, executable abstract operating infrastructure — while keeping calibration discipline primary and refusing standing inflation?

This page records a practical application vision. It is not a claim that the later phases already exist or are ready. Phase 0 is the only work currently authorized by evidence. All later phases remain Development Breadcrumbs until Phase 0 produces independent re-runs, a critical mass of records, and real external use.

Core orientation: Produce actual, inspectable results. Calibration is the continuous immune system. The infrastructure is meant to become loadable, versioned, and useful inside real reasoning and decision systems.

Phase 0 — Lock the Foundation (Active Now)

This is the only active phase.

  • Keep TDP-001 under continuous adversarial pressure and publish the current Working Standard.
  • Publish Calibration Records under honest Self-Assessed standing only.
  • Maintain a simple public repository (protocol + records + standing policy).
  • Run multi-instrument adversarial decompositions only. Never single-instrument.
  • Build the site pages for the Working Standard and the Calibration Library.
  • Force independent re-runs before any standing promotion.

Success criterion for leaving Phase 0: a small but real library of Calibration Records that have survived at least one independent re-run, plus external parties actually using or attacking the records.

Phase 1 — Catalog of Procedural Breakdowns (Downstream)

Contingent on Phase 0 producing a critical mass of stable records.

  • Define a minimal machine-readable schema for Calibration Records.
  • Systematically decompose a prioritized list of high-value terms.
  • Store every record with full version history in the public repository.
  • Provide simple retrieval so a human or AI can load “the current best mechanism for X.”
  • Promote standing only on documented independent re-runs.

This phase turns manual discipline into a reusable, versioned catalog. No automation or code language is required to begin it.

Phase 2+ — Salience, Focus, and Semi-Automated Use (Further Downstream)

Only after the catalog exists and has been attacked in real use.

  • Lightweight salience / relevance recognizers (each treated as its own instrument with a Calibration Record).
  • Explicit, inspectable drive-like focus operators.
  • Semi-automated engine that can ingest claims, match mechanisms, surface floors and residual uncertainty, and log multi-instrument friction.
  • Open competition layer for new records, better counterexamples, and improved recognizers.

These layers are not commitments. They become legitimate only when Phase 0 and Phase 1 have produced evidence that the underlying catalog is stable enough to support them.

Non-Negotiable Operating Rules

  • Multi-instrument by default.
  • Standing inflation is a logged nonconformance.
  • Floors and residual uncertainty are first-class outputs.
  • Everything public and diffable.
  • Permanent Beta on the whole stack.
  • Thin vertical slices only — one working term + real external friction before expansion.

Typical Failure Modes

  • Often confused with: A product roadmap, a promise of near-term automation, or a claim that later phases are already in progress.
  • Should NOT be used for: Justifying diversion of effort from Phase 0; raising the standing of TDP-001 or any Calibration Record; treating vision as evidence.
  • Common misuse: Expanding into Phase 1 or 2 before independent re-runs and external use exist; treating the vision page itself as a mature instrument.

Revision Trigger

This page should be reconsidered when:

  • Phase 0 meets its success criterion (independent re-runs + external use).
  • A material gap appears between the vision and actual results from the Working Standard or Calibration Records.
  • External parties begin forking or attacking the public records at scale.
  • A decision is made to freeze or split any phase.
