Domain SI — We Calibrate, We Do Not Set

Core claim: Abstract domains do not have a physical SI. The reference that plays the SI-role is whatever the domain itself defines as the standard under test. Metrology of the Abstract does not set that reference. It calibrates against it.

Operator breakdown

  1. Identify the Domain SI — What text or standard is the authority for this run?
  2. Lock it — Date, cite, assemble if multi-source; scope-fence neighbors that are out of test.
  3. Characterize (Seed Compiler) — Map the abstract instrument itself (internal mechanism).
  4. Pressure the job (ADM) — Evaluate fitness for the stated use as a measuring instrument.
  5. Certificate — Report results within known limits, standing, and residual uncertainty.
  6. Stop at the boundary — Recommendations stay labeled and non-binding; the domain still owns its SI.

Constitutional Principle

The Domain SI belongs to the domain.

The calibration belongs to the laboratory.

The certificate belongs to the measurement.

None of these are interchangeable.
