This principle distinguishes between two related but distinct functions:

Why This Principle Exists
Accurate diagnosis is impossible without language that preserves the structure of what is being observed. Euphemism obscures important distinctions. Exaggeration introduces false ones. Both degrade the framework's ability to support clear seeing, effective refusal, and competent building. The principle exists to protect the integrity of the diagnostic process itself.

Surgical Description seeks the minimum language necessary to accurately identify a pattern. It cuts only where the evidence requires and no further.
This standard is metrological:

A surgeon does not tell the operating team "there's a little problem with the artery" during surgery. The same surgeon may later explain the situation to the patient's family in different language. The reality being described has not changed. Only the interface has.
The framework applies the same discipline:

Calibration Warning
Precise language must not drift into exaggerated language. Terms should be selected because they improve diagnostic resolution — not because they provoke stronger emotional reactions or reinforce existing conclusions.
