1. Why this frame exists

People already understand (or are selling) AI-ready web architecture / semantic packaging:

  • semantic HTML, Schema.org, JSON-LD
  • chunks, knowledge graphs, sitemaps, llms.txt
  • agent-friendly retrieve

That work is real. It is also easy to confuse with Metrology of the Abstract (MoA). This note keeps the parallel visible so MoA can be explained in one breath without claiming to own the web stack.


2. The parallel

3. The two without-lines (teaching core)

Without… What goes wrong
Structure AI cannot find or read the instrument efficiently — mushy HTML, missed cards, wasted tokens
MoA AI finds something structured and fluent, treats it as a gauge, and executes terrible logic with confidence

Structure = access path. MoA = fitness of what gets accessed.


4. What most of the field optimizes

Dominant bet:

Better structure  →  better AI behavior

Sometimes true for retrieval quality. Often incomplete:

5. How to say MoA in public (short scripts)

Ultra-short: Structure for reach; MoA for alignment. One sentence: MoA is metrology for meaning — so machines and people don’t treat every well-packaged definition or metric as a trustworthy instrument. With the parallel: AI-ready architecture helps AI find the instrument. MoA asks whether that instrument should be trusted for the decision at hand. Duty line: We don’t replace Schema or sitemaps. We calibrate the abstract instruments those pipes deliver.


6. What MoA is not (in this frame)

  • Not a competitor to Schema.org or “the Semantic Web” as a packaging project
  • Not a claim that markup is useless
  • Not automatic wisdom from more JSON-LD
  • Not seizure of Domain SI

MoA may use structure (map-SEO, cert URLs, machine-readable cards). Structure does not perform MoA.


7. One-line doctrine

Without structure, the instrument is hard to find; without MoA, a found instrument can still be uncalibrated — and confident execution on a flawed gauge is the failure mode this domain exists to reduce.
