Governance of the Sovereign Games
The Sovereign Games must practice what it preaches. Governance exists to preserve calibration, not authority.
This module defines how the framework should evolve, maintain quality, resist capture, and avoid decay over time.
Core Principle
Governance decisions must themselves be subject to calibration. The framework should be governed by the same standards it applies to everything else: traceability, Diagnostic Inversion, Permanent Beta, and Results & Consequences.
Decision Making Process
- **Core vs Dictionary**
- Core modules are high-impact, high-frequency patterns that affect most people. - Additions to Core require demonstrated real-world utility and repeated successful application. - Dictionary is open to well-made modules that pass basic quality standards.
- **Quality Standards**
New modules must follow the Module Template and pass evaluation using How to Evaluate & Refine a Module.
- **Evolution**
The framework remains in Permanent Beta. Modules can be refined, merged, split, or moved between Core and Dictionary based on evidence and results.
Anti-Capture Mechanisms
- Strong emphasis on Hidden Mastery and self-audit.
- Public transparency of major changes and decision rationale.
- Preference for decentralized contribution over centralized control.
- Rejection of any attempt to turn the Sovereign Games into dogma or an identity.
- Governance decisions should be traceable and open to review.
Signs of Healthy Governance
- Better calibration over time
- Lower drift
- Faster correction of mistakes
- Increased clarity and usefulness
- Increased transparency
- Lower recurrence of previously identified failures
Failure Modes
Governance itself can fail through:
- Bureaucratic accumulation
- Founder worship
- Ideological capture
- Over-complexity
- Excessive centralization or decentralization
- Stagnation
These failure modes must themselves remain under calibration.
Final Principle
The governance system is governed by the same standards it applies to the framework.
