Welcome to the MoA–TSG Lab. The wiki is the bench. The work is Metrology of the Abstract. Adopt the tools or leave them on the rack — either way, the need doesn't wait.
- Lab Note: A redlink is not a failure. It identifies Calibration Debt—work waiting to be measured, mapped, and calibrated.

CYCLE Calibration position Status — Active Development
This page is a conceptual instrument under Permanent Beta. It declares a real calibration position, not a finished product waiting to ship. Checking continues; an edit is only required when evidence demands it. Stage: Seed to Fruit. Feedback welcome — especially clarity, failure modes, and calibration gaps. Use discussion or Contribute. |

Versioning
This page establishes how The Sovereign Games tracks changes and communicates the reliability of its conceptual instruments. This page is the canonical source for `instrument_grade` values — if a different list appears elsewhere, that page is stale and should be corrected to match this one.
Two-Axis Model
- Document Version — Tracks content revisions ("Which revision am I looking at?")
- instrument_grade — Communicates current calibration trustworthiness ("How reliable is this instrument right now?")
Both are recorded in the
template on every page.
Note on a third, related concept — Calibration Cycle: Version and instrument_grade are not the only things tracked. Calibration Cycle (how many times a page has actually been reviewed) is distinct from both — a page can be reviewed multiple times with no version change, or have its version bumped several times between reviews. There is no separate cycle-count field; the Talk page's Calibration Reports log serves as the cycle record. See Template:Admin Page Status/doc for the full explanation.
Versioning Scheme
- 0.x → Early development (frequent changes expected)
- 1.x → Stable working version
- 2.0+ → Major revision
instrument_grade Levels
- Experimental — Very early, high uncertainty, frequent changes
- Development — Actively being refined, moderate stability
- Confirmed — Self-assessed + reviewed by at least one other calibrator
- Field Validated — Tested in real-world use with supporting evidence
- Reference Standard Candidate — High confidence, suitable for broad reliance
These levels are implemented via the `instrument_grade` field in Template:Admin Page Status, and via the `Maturity` field in Template:GameModule (public-facing counterpart, same scale — see Template:GameModule/doc for the relationship between the two).
Changelog Practice
Every page should maintain a short Calibration History section (usually in its Calibration Log) that records meaningful changes as calibration events.
Example:
- 0.1 (2026-07-12) — Initial draft
- 0.2 (2026-07-12) — Added instrument_grade levels
- 0.3 (2026-07-13) — Resolved canonical-source conflict with Admin Page Status doc, cross-referenced Calibration Cycle distinction
