Strategy: Reforming Education

Reforming Education is one of the highest-leverage Sovereign Strategies. The current system has been heavily captured by Moloch and Slave Owner dynamics, resulting in widespread loss of agency, ideological indoctrination, and declining competence among students.

Quick Summary

The education system in much of the West has become a battleground of coordination failure (Moloch) and institutional control (Slave Owner). Teachers’ unions, captured administrators, and ideological activists often prioritize power, ideology, and job protection over student outcomes. Parents have been systematically disempowered.

This strategy focuses on **diagnosing the games being played**, weakening their grip, and building **parallel education systems** that restore sovereignty to families and students.

Problem Diagnosis

Core Games at Play

**Slave Owner Game**: Institutions and unions use moral language (“for the children,” “equity,” “inclusion”) to maintain control while reducing parental authority and student agency.
**Moloch Game**: Everyone involved (unions, administrators, politicians, some parents) is trapped in a race to the bottom — lowering standards, increasing bureaucracy, and prioritizing ideology over competence because “everyone else is doing it.”
**Principal-Agent Game**: Teachers’ unions and administrators act as agents that frequently serve their own interests rather than students or parents.
**Narrative Control + Overton Window**: The system has successfully narrowed what is considered acceptable discussion around education, making criticism of progressive ideology socially and professionally risky.

Strategic Objectives

1. Restore parental sovereignty and agency in education. 2. Break the monopoly power of captured institutions and unions. 3. Build high-quality parallel education systems. 4. Raise the next generation with stronger critical thinking, competence, and resistance to manipulation.

Key Tactics

1. Counter Union Power with Real Parent Power

Create **Parent/Student Unions** with actual legal, financial, and political teeth (unlike most PTAs).
These unions should have the ability to negotiate, sue districts, influence policy, and organize collective action.
Shift power away from teachers’ unions toward families.

2. Build Parallel Institutions

Accelerate homeschooling, micro-schools, classical academies, and hybrid models.
Create networks of high-quality alternative education providers.
Develop shared curricula, teacher training, and quality standards outside the captured system.

3. Use Offensive Defense

Publicly name the games being played in education (Moloch dynamics, ideological capture, union self-interest).
Document and expose poor outcomes, ideological indoctrination, and loss of parental rights.
Shift the Overton Window by making honest criticism of the system socially acceptable again.

4. Reduce Dependency

Help families achieve financial and logistical independence from the public system (homeschooling resources, co-ops, scholarships).
Create alternative credentialing and pathways that reduce the power of the current system.

Phased Action Plan

- Phase 1: Awareness & Organization (0–12 months)**

- Build local and online parent networks. - Start documenting failures and ideological capture. - Begin forming the first Parent/Student Union prototypes.

- Phase 2: Parallel System Building (6–36 months)**

- Expand homeschooling, micro-schools, and alternative programs. - Develop shared resources and quality standards. - Create legal and financial infrastructure to support alternatives.

- Grow Parent/Student Unions to meaningful scale. - Use legal and political pressure to weaken monopoly power. - Force competition and accountability on the existing system.

- Normalize parental sovereignty as the default. - Raise a generation with stronger agency and resistance to manipulation. - Make high-quality alternative education the norm rather than the exception.

**Quality Control**: Rapid growth can lead to poor alternatives. Mitigate with shared standards and transparent results.
**Internal Moloch**: Alternative systems can fall into their own coordination failures. Mitigate with strong governance and Skin in the Game.
**Cultural Resistance**: Many parents are still captured. Mitigate through consistent, calm exposure of the current system’s failures.
